Quilt Bugg is passionate about the Quilts of Valor Foundation.
The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover all combat service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.
Riina was born in Washington State in the early 50's and learned to sew by spending long hours with her grandmother as a child. Although her first projects were fashioned from bits of printed feed sacks, she eagerly soaked up any knowledge her grandmother had to offer and by the time she was 13, she was already known for her fine sewing, embroidery and crochet work.
By the early 80's, she had found her true passion, quilting! After some time, she and her aunt opened a quilting business in Washington, where she worked until she met her husband and moved to Winterset, Iowa.
Without the support of her family near by (and to support her quilting habit!) she was forced to take a job in the "real world". She wanted to do machine quilting after retiring from the "real work world". She invested in a professional longarm quilt machine and is now doing what she loves doing most — Quilting.
As Riina always says,
"I love to quilt till I wilt!"
And now she can!
